The National Universities Commission (NUC) has ordered the closure of universities across the country to enable students participate in the forthcoming 2023 General Elections.
The body passed the information through a letter addressed to vice-chancellors of all Nigerian universities and directors of inter-university centres, the NUC noted that the order was based on the directive of the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu.
The 2023 General elections have been scheduled to hold on Saturday, February 25, and March 11, to this effect, the Honorable minister of Education has ordered all Universities across the country to shut down, and all academic activities suspended from, February 22 and March 14.
This is to ensure security of students, staff and properties of the Universities.
