An Abuja High Court presided by Hamza Muazu, has issued a perpetual restraining order on the National Chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure, and 3 others from acting as national officers of the party.

The order was issued on Wednesday against Julius Abure, Oluchi Opara (Treasurer), Farouk Ibrahim (Secretary) and Clement Ojukwu (Organizing Secretary).

The suit was brought before the court by Martins John, Lucky Shaibu, Isah Zekeri, Omogbai Frank, Abokhaiu Aliu, Ayohkaire Lateef, Job Elomah, and Abayomi Arabambi.

It is not very clear how this new order would affect the Labour Party challenging the election results at the tribunal. However, the reliefs sought by the plaintiffs included an order directing the national working committee of the party to appoint interim officials for each of the offices affected by the order.

The plaintiffs had alleged that the defendants forged several documents of the Abuja High Court in a bid to carry out illegal substitutions in the last elections.
