Any talk of further extension of the February 10th Naira swap deadline has been put to rest by an interim ruling/order of an Abuja High Court, today.
Justice Eleojo Enenche of the Federal High Court, Abuja gave this ruuling on a suit brought against the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to prevent it from extending the deadline.
Justice Enenche gave an interim injunction restraining the CBN or its officers, banks and related bodies not to suspend, stop, extend, vary or interfere with the February 10th deadline pending the determination of motion on notice.
The ruling was given today on in the suit marked FCT/HC/CV/2234/2023
This means the Naira swap deadline of February is now cast in stone and cannot be changed or tampered with by the CBN till the order is reversed by the court.
