A 12 year old student of Chrisland International School, Opebi, has reportedly died during the schools inter-house sports activities.
The father of the child, Michael Adeniran has posted on social media crying out over the death of his daughter, Whitney Adeniran.
Reports on social media indicates Whitney died on Thursday at the Agege Stadium which was used for the inter-house sports activity.
Michael Adeniran said the child had nor health condition or visible signs of illness when she was picked up by the school bus to the event.
Adeniran disclosed that his wife who was present at the stadium was not informed about the incident immediately. He said his wife rushed down to the health center when she could not locate her child at the event only to find the child dead at the health center.
He said no credible explanation has been given by the school and he is calling on the Lagos State Government and the Police to investigate the matter and get justice for his child.
Adeniran said the school has been asking them to back down from conducting an autopsy. He is quoted:
“Since we started asking this question. The school has been asking us to back down from the autopsy and I know they know their way into the system. I am calling on the pathology department of @lasuth to please be honest with their result. Lagos State government, Nigerian Government, please intervene.”
Recall that Chrisland school had been in the news last year for videos circulating on social media in which an underage child was allegedly performing adult style dances on a school trip to Dubai. That incident emanated from the Victoria Garden City (VGC) branch of the school.
