President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has finally sent the long awaited Ministerial nominees list to the Senate for confirmation.
The letter was delivered on Thursday, July 27, to the Senate President by the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.
In the letter containing the full list of nominees included former governors, senators, high-profile politicians, and both male female elites such as Nyesom Wike, Dave Umahi, Nasir El-Rufai, Dele Alaka, among others.
President Tinubu further added that additional nominees will be sent in due course.
This is coming after president Tinubu has spent 58 days in office. He was given till 28 July, to send his ministerial nominees to the Senate for screening and confirmation in accordance with the Nigerian constitution.
The ministerial cabinet is in line with the Nigerian constitution and is they’re assigned to assist the president and the governors with advice, coordination and policy direction.
Their roles and the conditions they must follow are outlined in sections 144 to 150 and sections 189 to 195 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
