Google today announced applications for the third edition of its Black Founders Fund for startups in Africa.
The fund will be dedicating $4million for distribution to successful black founded startups. The winners will go home with $100,000 in equity free cash and up to $200,000 in Google Cloud credit.
The head of Google Startup Ecosystem for Sub-Saharan Africa, Folarin Aiyegbusi, made this known today in Lagos.
To be eligible, startups need to be operating and headquarted in Africa or having a legal presence in Africa. In addition, startups need to be early stage with black or diverse founding teams.
60 startups were picked for the fund in 2022
