Issues Arrest Warrant For Putin And One Official
The International Criminal Court (ICC) today declared Russian Leader, Vladimir Putin, wanted and issued an arrest warrant after accusing him of war crimes.
The ICC is specifically accussing Putin of illegal deportation of children from Ukraine and accused Russian forces of forcing children watch while their relatives were raped.
Putin is now the third serving President to be issued an ICC arrest warrant after Sudan’s Omar Al-Bshir and Muammar Ghaddafi of Libya.
This is a very strong declaration of disdain on Vladimir Putin and his war effort in Ukraine. He stands the risk of arrest if he attempts to visit or pass through any country that signed the ICC statute.
Another Russian offical, Maria Lvova-Belova, the Russian Commissioner for Children’s Rights was also issued an arrest warrant.
As expected, Russia is responding saying the country was not a member signatory of the ICC and therefore , null and void. Russia called the warrants , outrageous and unacceptable.
