Protests erupted in some parts of Lagos State as commercial bus drivers and their conductors protest over increase and exorbitant daily fees being collected by touts (Agberos).
The protest took place on Wednesday morning, March 29, around Alakuko/Oshodi-Toll Gate axis of Lagos State, the drivers said they are usually made to pay tax of N2,000 per day but it has now been increased to N2,500 daily.
The erring bus drivers who blocked traffic on the Lagos – abeokuta claimed that the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu should come to their aid as most of them are being attacked and beaten by the agbero touts for being unable to pay the daily levy of 2500.
Men of the police police force were dispatched to the scene in order to disperse the protesters and restore calm in the affected areas.
