Amazon, the online retail and tech giant announced on Monday that it would cut another 9,000 positions, adding to the earlier 18,000 cuts the company announced in the past few months.
Now the cuts are going to affect the most profitable segments in Amazon, the cloud, advertising and even the streaming unit (Twitch) divisions which provide a huge chunk of the profits for the tech giant.
Twitch will be affected with over 400 job cuts.
Amazon CEO, Andy Jassy said the cuts resulted from a realignment of priorities and economic uncertainties facing the company.
Amazon has faced declining profits due to customers clamping down on spending especially in the cloud division. The company is forced is make the cuts to streamline costs and headcounts
