The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has said that the current naira/fuel scarcity was created by certain elements to spot Bola Tinubu from actualizing his presidential ambition in the February 25 poll.
Gbajabiamila spoke in Lagos on Tuesday while launching 35 low-fare buses to ply the Surulere routes for his constituents.
He described the naira redesign as a well thought out one which has been hijacked and politicized all in a bid to stop Tinubu from becoming the President of Nigeria.
Gbajabiamiala said the plot would fail as Nigerians were still keeping faith with Tinubu.
He is quoted:
“Nobody can convince me that it is not a plot to stop Asiwaju from becoming the president of this country. But I am glad that our God is a wonderful being as the plot these people sat together to hatch, he has intervened,”
The naira redesign and subsequent scarcity of the new naira notes has created a nationwide crisis with limited protests in parts of the country. The redesign coupled with fuel scarcity and increased inflation has brought chaos and uncertainty in the elections slated for February 25th and March 11th in Nigeria.
