The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Adamu, has said the position of the party was to back the stance of the APC Governors who had taken the Federal Government to court on the naira redesign, which they branded unconstitutional.
The Governors of some states, mostly APC states had taken the matter to the Supreme Court to stop the declaration of old versions of N200, N500 and N1,000 as non legal tender.
Kaduna and Kano State Governors, Nasir El-Rufai and Abdullahi Ganduje , had alleged that the redesign was done by the Presidency to frustrate the party in the upcoming polls and had been vocally resisting the directives of both the President and the Central Bank of Nigeria on the issue.
Adamu Abdullahi had been meeting with the APC Governors today which also had in attendance, the presidential candidate of the APC, Bola Tinubu.
