Nigeria and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, has stated that he is enjoying his time at Napoli despite all the speculations linking him to a huge money move to one of the top clubs in the English Premier League.
Osimhen, 24, insists that he and his team mates are focused on winning the Serie A title for the Naples based side which last won the league when the late Argentinian legend, Diego Maradona played for the side.
The Nigerian striker has score 21 goals in 24 Serie A games to help Napoli top the league and maintain a 14 point advantage at the top.
Osimhen believes Napoli are very close to realizing the league ambitions and made this clear in an interview with TG5.
He is quoted as saying:
‘We are close to the objective and cannot wait to make our dream come true, to make it a reality,’
Osimhen stated that his career is progressing rapidly at one of the biggest clubs in the world and he is happy to be at Napoli.
There has been talks of Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal monitoring his situation with an eye on getting him to move in the summer.
Osimhen has become a fans favorite at Napoli with his polite ways and his signature face mask. Osimhen is very popular with the local Naples kids, who dress up as him complete with the face mask all over social media platforms.
Napoli paid a record transfer fee of €71.3m (Euros) to French side, Lille, for Osimhen in 2021.
In this type of terrific form, the Nigerian striker is expected to command a transfer fee above $100million in today’s transfer market. That would make him the most expensive African player ever.
Osimhen would be back in action in the Champions League Quarter Finals second leg game against fellow Serie A side, AC Milan this week. In the first leg at Milan, Osimhen was absent due to injury and Napoli struggled without him, losing the game 1-0.
