Kaduna State Governor and member of Bola Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nasir El-Rufai, has continued with his attacks on Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
This time El-Rufai has described Peter Obi as a Nollywood actor who does not have the numbers to win the election.
Nasir El-Rufai made these comments on a TVC interview.
He dismissed the undeniable Peter Obi popularity by saying he can only get votes in the South East and South South.
El-Furai said votes from only one local government area in Kaduna would wipe off all the votes from Anambra State.
This was in reference to the fact that Peter Obi is a former governor of Anambra State.
In particular he said:
“Obi is polling one percent in Sokoto, two percent in Katsina, and five percent in Kano.
“Doing 70 percent in Anambra State does not mean somebody doing 10 percent in Kano is not better than you.
“Kano is 4 million votes…Yes, Peter Obi will sweep Southern States, he will do well in South-South, where else?”
He accused Peter Obi of polling in Christian enclaves in the North, and asked how many are there?
He added that ethnicity and religious bigotry will not you anywhere, and said boldly that the election is between the APC and PDP.
Peter Obi’s climb in popularity nationwide has been phenomenal. For an outsider to become one of the frontrunners in the midst of the big parties is exciting to observe.
Why is El-Rufai focusing on Peter Obi, who is considered an outsider and brushed off by the major political rivals.
Could it be that the major parties are beginning to fear a shift in the nations voting dynamics?
