The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has sent his congratulatory message to the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his victory in the past presidential election. Zelensky also invited Tinubu to Ukraine on an official visit.
In the congratulatory letter Zelensky sent to the president-elect, he expressed how determined the war-torn country is in strengthening their cooperation with Nigeria, and collaborate as nations to provide global food security, which is designed to increase grain supply to African countries to curb famine.
He further stressed on how Tinubu’s visit would strengthen the dialogue between Ukraine and Russia, in order to end the challenges the country is facing because of the war that has ravaged some parts of Ukraine.
Recall that Ukraine has been fighting a war with Russia which invaded and annexed some parts of Ukraine forcefully. Ukraine had received global sympathy for the aggression by Russia. However, the elections in Nigeria are still hotly disputed and the parties are presently in court over the matter. The opposition parties have accused Bola Tinubu and his party, All Progressives Congress(APC) of voter intimidation, violence, ethnic targeting and outright fraud in the recently concluded elections,
