Gerrard To Build Title Winning Team With Millions of Dollars

Former England and Liverpool star, Steven Gerrard is set to be announced as the new manager of Saudi Arabian side, Al Etiifaq.

Gerrard whose last job was at Aston Villa has reportedly agreed to join the Saudi Arabian side after weeks of speculation and categorical denials from him.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Al Etiifaq have splashed the millions and convinced Gerrard to buy into their project of challenging for the Saudi Arabian League Title next season.

Gerrard confessed that he went to Saudi Arabia to look at a potential offer but then denied he would be taking the job a few weeks ago.

Now the story has changed with Al Etiifaq having convinced the Englishman to sign up with a promise to bring on a couple world class players to help him succeed at the club.

Saudi Football Take Over

The Saudi Arabian League is now one of the hottest destinations for players, as the clubs in the oil rich nation are bringing in some really good players from the European Leagues with mouthwatering offers. Christiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and a host of first team players from Chelsea have upped and signed for Saudi Arabian clubs. Benzema was reported to have been signed on an unbelievable $200m per year contract.

It is believed that the Saudi Arabian Government see sports, especially football as a means to diversify their economy and have put in billions of dollars to raise the standard of the league to attract some of the best players in the world. The country’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) has reportedly taken over six of the teams in the league with a view to funding them and taking them to world class levels.
