It was an anti-climax as Arsenal expected to win the game against Nottingham Forest and put the pressure on Manchester City. Alas, Awoniyi had other ideas as his first half goal ensured all three points for his team which held on to the lead till the end of the game at Nottingham Forest.
This victory means Pep Guardiola’s side game against Chelsea on Sunday will be just a formality ,as they have mathematically become the Champions even if they lost their two remaining games.
It was a bitter pill to swallow for Arsenal who had held on to the top of the league for weeks now and sadly, surrender an 8-point lead to be overtaken by the rampaging Manchester City side.
