Labour party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has for the first time come out to debunk the audio call being circulated online about his alleged conversation with clergyman, Bishop David Oyedepo. He said the audio is fake and was doctored.
Recall that over the weekend, a voice recording which many claim was between Peter Obi and Oyedepo during the 2023 presidential campaigns, surfaced online. In the viral audio recording, the voice of a man alleged to be Obi was begging purported Oyedepo, to help facilitate votes for him amongst the Christian community in the South as the 2023 general election was a ‘’religious war”.
In a series of tweets posted on Wednesday evening, March 5, Obi stated that the audio recording is fake and that at no time during and after the elections has he ever implied that the 2023 election is, or was a religious war. He said his legal team has been instructed to take appropriate legal actions against those who released the fake audio online.
