The president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu was engulfed by a mammoth of his supporters that came out to welcome him at the airport in Abuja, after spending over a month in France.
The former governor had jetted off to France early last month to “rest” and later proceeded to Saudi Arabia for Hajj.
On Monday, April 24, the aircraft conveying the former Governor of Lagos state and his wife, Oluremi, touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja, at 04:30pm.
They were received by the Vice-President-Elect, Kashim Shettima; Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila; amongst many other high-ranking members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The presidential election that produced Tinubu as the winner has been hotly disputed by the opposition parties who cited infractions including violence, voter intimidation, ethnic targeting and outright falsification of results. Tinubu himself has been linked to a narcotics case in the United States, and there are so many issues surrounding his real identity. The opposition parties have taken the matter to court in protest against the election results.
