Prof. Anthony Eze who was a lecturer at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Faculty of Education was shot dead in the early hours of Tuesday, February 7, 2023.
According to reports, the assailants stormed the late Prof’s residence in Awka, Anambra state with a Toyota Corolla car and shot him at close range.
A resident source said the deceased attempted to escape with his car on sighting the gunmen but couldn’t, rather they rushed and shot him repeatedly on the chest.
He said the deceased was immediately rushed to the General Hospital Amaku where he was confirmed dead by the doctor.
The acting Director of Information and Public Relations, UNIZIK, Chika Ene, has confirmed the gruesome murder but she was yet to receive full details.
